At Geoship, transparency is core to how we build. As interest grows and we move closer to delivering our first homes, we’re seeing a lot of excitement... and a lot of great questions.

This post is here to offer clarity about timelines, future models, our affordability goals, and other top questions we see in the inbox!

1) What is the Amma Founder’s Edition and how does its pricing reflect the product?

The Amma Founder’s Edition Dome is Geoship’s first official product and marks the beginning of our mission to deliver regenerative homes. This is not a prototype, but a market-ready, fully finished, move-in ready premium home.

The dome offers 1,643 square feet of geodesic living space, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a dedicated office, and a lofted living area.

With initial deliveries planned for Northern California in 2025, the Founder’s Edition starts at approximately $300 per square foot, totaling around $500,000. This price reflects its high-performance systems, luxury appliances, and natural, health-conscious finishes as part of a first-run premium offering.

Owning a limited Founder’s Edition Dome means joining Geoship’s Founding Circle. You’ll be part of a group of early visionaries leading the shift toward a new paradigm in regenerative living. As a member, you’ll receive personalized concierge service and a lifetime structural warranty.

Whether as a primary residence, a unique vacation home, or a short-term rental operated by Geoship, this first model is ideal for early adopters who want to live inside the future and help shape it.

2) How does the Amma Founder’s Edition dome fit into Geoship’s broader affordability vision and will prices go down over time?

While the Amma Founder’s Edition is a premium, early-access model, it’s just the first step.

To make our homes widely affordable and accessible, we’ve mapped out a three-phase strategy we call Pilot It, Nail It, Scale It—a structured, intentional path to achieve mass affordability while preserving integrity, quality, and regenerative impact.

📊 Here’s how that roadmap looks visually:

How Geoship Unlocks Affordability as we Scale:

At Geoship, affordability isn’t just a goal—it’s embedded into the DNA of our product design, material science, and manufacturing strategy. Our homes are engineered from first principles to dramatically reduce costs, increase performance, and scale accessibility.

By developing our own bioceramic composite material and vertically integrating the production process, we unlock cost savings at every stage: from raw materials to dome production to final installation. This allows us to reimagine the economics of homebuilding and pass those savings on to our customers.

Our goal is to offer our domes at 30 to 60 percent less than traditional homes of comparable size and quality. We’re scaling through a phased manufacturing strategy, evolving from low-volume production to high-volume automated manufacturing in decentralized regional microfactories. This approach is designed to continuously reduce costs while expanding access to a wider range of models and applications.

But affordability at Geoship goes far beyond sticker price. Our domes are designed to last for generations, require little to no maintenance, operate with high energy efficiency, and integrate off-grid systems. This helps lower the total cost of ownership over time. We’re creating homes that are not just financially accessible, but also healthier to live in, more sustainable, and more resilient.

To us, affordability is multidimensional. It means homes that cost less, last longer, nourish personal well-being, and help communities thrive economically, ecologically, and socially.

3) When will models be available beyond the Founder’s Edition Amma, and can I reserve a future model now if the Founder’s Edition isn’t the right fit?

We plan to release additional models beginning in Phase 2: Nail It, which spans from 2028 to 2031. These new models will offer a range of layouts, finish levels, and introduce more price point options. While they will still be based on the Amma model size, they will be optimized for greater affordability and streamlined production.

If the Founder’s Edition Amma Dome isn’t the right fit for you—whether due to timing, budget, location, or other preferences—you can still join our reservation list today.

Reserving now ensures you hold your place in line for upcoming production phases and gives you early access to updates, new model announcements, and regional availability as we expand.

4) What’s included in the price—and what does “move-in ready” really mean?

Our listed pricing refers to a fully finished dome structure with a complete interior build-out.

Here’s what is included in the cost of the Amma Founder’s Edition:

  • All bioceramic dome materials

  • Labor to manufacture, deliver, and assemble the dome on site

  • A fully finished interior including the kitchen with cabinets, countertops, sink, faucet, refrigerator, dishwasher, range, and oven

  • Bathrooms with sink, toilet, shower or tub, and all plumbing fixtures

  • Utility systems including water heater, washer and dryer, whole-home heating, cooling, and ventilation

  • Other finishes such as doors, handles, windows, light fixtures, trim, and a whole-house water filtration system

By move-in ready, we mean a high-integrity, turnkey home (not a shell or a kit).  Every element is selected for its performance, durability, sustainability, and alignment with our mission to build homes that heal people and the planet.

5) What’s not included in the price?

There are several important components not included in the base price, as they vary significantly depending on your site:

  • Land

  • Site preparation such as grading, excavation, tree clearing, or access roads

  •  Foundation system, which may use screw piles or similar solutions depending on soil and local conditions

  • Utility infrastructure including electrical, water, and septic hookups or off-grid alternatives like solar, rain catchment, or composting systems

  • Personal furniture like couches, tables, chairs, beds

Besides furniture, these aspects typically vary widely and require local contractors and engineers. As we grow, we’re developing resources and partnerships to help guide customers through this phase of the project.

6) What’s the timeline for when I can get a Geoship home?

We are currently in Phase 1: Pilot It. During this phase, we are building and delivering a limited number of Amma Founder Edition domes starting in Northern California and then expanding to more regions within California and beyond. These early homes are part of a close-knit founding community, co-creating the first iteration of the full Geoship experience.

In Phase 2, beginning in 2028, we’ll expand production, offer more models, and increase affordability. Volumes will rise to 100+ domes per year, and timelines will become shorter and more predictable.

By Phase 3 in 2031 and beyond, Geoship homes will be available across the United States through regional microfactories, producing over 1,000 homes annually. Delivery timelines will accelerate and costs will drop significantly.

7) What does it mean to place a reservation and how is the delivery queue determined?

Placing a reservation is the first step in the process of ordering a Geoship dome. By placing a refundable reservation, you secure your priority status as a future customer, ensuring your spot in our production queue.

While this initial reservation records your preferences, no details are finalized until we reach out to convert your reservation into an order closer to the production date.

Note: When you invest $900 in our crowdfunding campaign, you’ll receive a promo code for $300 off the $500 reservation deposit.

When you receive your dome depends on your place in our delivery queue which is determined by when you placed a reservation, your investment history, your region, your referral history, and which model best fits your needs based on our product roadmap.

If you’re interested in owning a Geoship dome, we recommend joining the reservation list today.

Whether you're aiming for the Amma Founder's Edition or a future model, placing a reservation now ensures we can match you with the right dome as availability unfolds.

Our reservation system allows us to gauge demand, plan production, keep you informed, and ensure you're among the first to know when your preferred model becomes available.

8) How does installation and future maintenance work?

Installation

Geoship domes are designed for rapid assembly using modular bioceramic components. Installation is handled by Geoship or future authorized partners to ensure precision and quality. While timelines vary based on site conditions and dome configuration, the process is streamlined to minimize disruption and labor. Estimated build time is 3–6 weeks, not including production and delivery.

Note: At this time, we are not offering DIY kits, but may consider this option in the future.

Maintenance: Built to Last, Designed for Simplicity

Geoship domes are not an assembly of parts. They are fully integrated, high-performance products designed from the ground up for longevity and minimal maintenance. This isn’t just a new kind of home; it represents a whole new paradigm in housing.

Our bioceramic composite material is inherently fireproof, waterproof, mold-proof, and pest-resistant. Unlike traditional homes that rely on layered materials such as paint, drywall, and wood, each of which is prone to deterioration, Geoship domes are monolithic and impervious by design. There are no materials that peel, rot, warp, or invite decay.

Because the structure itself serves as the finish and the materials are engineered to last for generations, long-term upkeep is radically simplified. Maintenance typically involves only routine cleaning and basic inspections, with little to no need for structural repair even over decades.

Geoship is redefining what it means to own a home. With fewer surprises, fewer repairs, and a resilient living environment, it is designed to stand the test of time.

For any maintenance that IS required:

  • Structural Integrity: 50-year warranty

  • Building Envelope: 20-year warranty

  • Founders Edition Domes: 5-year full service, no questions asked, lifetime structural warranty.

The domes can be resurfaced and repaired from the same material they were constructed from, making maintenance simple.

9) How does the dome perform in different climates and extreme weather?

Geoship domes are engineered to perform exceptionally well in all climates across all 50 states. They are designed to thrive in regions with heavy snowfall, desert heat, coastal humidity, and everything in between.

The exterior shell is crafted from a custom bioceramic composite. To make it fully waterproof and resilient, we seal it with a non-toxic synthetic polymer, also used in medical applications, which enhances durability and protection against the elements. With exceptional insulation (R-24 minimum) and near-zero air leakage, they keep you warm and energy-efficient even in the harshest winters.

The uniform bioceramic structure expands and contracts as one, preventing cracks or leaks from temperature swings. Paired with an integrated HVAC system (ducted mini-split and ERV), your dome stays cozy in winter, cool in summer, and energy-efficient year-round. Additionally, the quick assembly process allows building during short weather windows, ensuring your home is ready when you are.

Our structures have undergone rigorous performance and durability testing, including:

  • Snow load resistance that exceeds 2x the requirements for California mountain regions

  • Thermal cycling chambers simulating decades of freeze-thaw cycles

  • ASTM-standard water penetration testing to ensure rainproof integrity

Geoship domes are also engineered for resilience against natural disasters. The geodesic design is inherently strong, distributing stress evenly across the structure, which dramatically improves resistance to external forces such as:

  • 🌏 Earthquakes: The dome's geometry and integrated panel system reduce the risk of catastrophic failure during seismic events

  • 🌪️ High winds and hurricanes: The aerodynamic shape allows wind to flow around the dome, minimizing uplift and pressure points

  • 🔥 Wildfires: The bioceramic composite is non-combustible and engineered to withstand extreme heat, unlike traditional wood-based materials

  • 💦 Flooding: The waterproof shell and elevated base design options help prevent water intrusion and damage. The bioceramic material does not rot, mold, or degrade when wet; moisture sheds off the seamless shell, and any water exposure dries out without causing damage.

These domes are built not only to withstand extreme climate conditions, but also to provide safe, long-term shelter in the face of increasingly common natural disasters. They’re homes designed for the climate era: stronger, safer, and more sustainable.

10) Why is Geoship Raising Funds? And Why Through Crowdfunding?

Geoship is not just building homes, we’re building a new kind of housing system designed for regeneration, resilience, and equity. The capital we’re raising enables us to move from vision to volume: completing material validation, securing key certifications, building out our first microfactory, and delivering our Amma Founder’s Edition homes.

We chose equity crowdfunding because it aligns with our core belief that homeowners should be company owners. This isn’t just about funding—it’s about co-creation. Our investors are more than backers; they’re future residents, reservation holders, and ambassadors of a regenerative future.

Why are we continuously fundraising?

Because we’re building a new kind of economic engine that invites everyone to co-create the future of housing. At the heart of our model is what we call a perpetual fundraising engine, a regenerative system designed to keep momentum flowing as we grow. Real estate has historically been one of the most extractive industries. We're flipping the script by opening ownership to the people, not just institutions, and making it possible for anyone to participate in reshaping the housing system itself.

Through crowdfunding, we:

  • Align incentives between homeowners, investors, and the company.

  • Distribute the upside of our mission to the people who believe in it most.

  • Ensure accountability and transparency, as our community is also our boardroom.

  • Accelerate adoption of climate-resilient, bioceramic homes by letting early adopters invest in what they live in.

This is a long game, and our community is at the heart of it. We’re not building one product or one company—we’re building a movement.
